Another Christmas Block

I finished a new Christmas block.  An angel.

There were some really tiny pieces in this one.  I was surprised that I was able to hand applique them.

The snowman now hand arms and a face....lol.  I wanted to show you that I finished it.

The next couple of blocks are pieced blocks.

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.  We had dinner at my daughters.  It was her first time cooking a turkey.  She did such a great job.  There were about 15 of us.  Each family brought a dish.  We had turkey, stuffing, ham, ambrosia, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, mac and cheese, homemade applesauce and pumpkin pie.  And I'm still stuffed.

Stop back again soon.  I hope to have some projects to share.

Hugs, Cathy

Sweet angel. You did well with the tiny pieces. I see you are using up some stash fabric doing the sashings around the blocks.

I remember my first time cooking a turkey. I had my husband's family for dinner. I cooked a big turkey and all the other food. It turned out fine and by the end of the day, there were no left overs. Not one piece of turkey left for a sandwich the day after,

Love the Christmas blocks you are making and angels are always nice to have watching over us! I was 19 when I cooked my first turkey and had a young husband and baby and we had moved a couple states away from family--what I remember most was that I knew there was a neck and parts in the cavity of the bird--but did not know they there was a bag of other parts in his one body cavity--it was discovered when I was taking the rest of the meat of the bones-good thing they put them in paper thingy and it was a plastic bag!!!!
thanks for the memory--
enjoy the moments, di

Your folk art Christmas blocks are looking so cute! Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. We were just reminiscing with my daughter on Thanksgiving about the first time she cooked the turkey (about 10 years ago). I called her the day before and asked her if it was thawed. She said, "Oh yeah, it's been sitting on top of the fridge thawing since Monday." I told her to take it right out to the dumpster and then go buy another one immediately and thaw it in a sink of cold water! A few tears of angst and a day later, she served one of the best turkeys we've ever had (and nobody died, lol).
