New Block - New Year

Time to reveal the next block for the Early American Life quilt.

This was a fun block to make.  Be sure to check with Karen and see her version.  Four blocks down and 12 to go.

I was able to get the final block done for my Christmas BOM.  It is the first time sewing for me since I came down with Bells Palsy.  My right eye waters a great deal so I cant sew for to long.

I was hoping to get it done for Christmas...but this darn virus got in the way.

Another planned project....

These are tree blocks from a Cheri Payne Christmas book.  I was wanting to make either a wall quilt or a table runner.  These blocks went together so easy.  Oh well, there is always next year.

A health update.  My face is still droopy.  I drink everything using a straw and pinching the right side of my mouth.  Eating is a real adventure.  I have no taste on the right side.  My ear still hurts and my right eye waters.  I start physical therapy after the first of the year.  Each day I feel better (although I don't look it).

I did get a block machine pieced.  It took longer because it strains my eye.  And yesterday I prepped an applique block and started sewing it.

I hope you had a good Christmas and have a very Happy New Year.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Cathy

Your block looks so nice and the Christmas blocks are fabulous together. I hope the new year will bring you relief for all of the issues you are having to deal with this year.

I like the blue color you used for your Oak Leaf block. I chose a green as I was thinking leaf but it works so well in that blue.

I hope I never get the Bell's Palsy. So many complications. I guess eating out right now would not be something you would want to do.

What a pretty block. Love your Christmas quilt too. I hope you continue to improve and PT will speed up the process! Sounds like you have a good attitude and are dealing with it the best you can. Happy New Year!

Beautiful block, love the blue! The tree blocks are great too, so glad you're able to sew. Your Christmas BOM is wonderful. I'm praying therapy does the trick to get you back to normal quickly, hon!

I didn't know you had Bells Palsy. So sorry to hear that. I wish you a full recovery!
Your block is really pretty.
And the Christmas quilt is so cute! Has a cozy look to it. How large is it?

It sounds like you are making progress with your quilting in spite of your physical problem. Glad to hear you are improving little by little. Happy New Year! And I hope your body will heal quickly.
