Early American Life Block 5

We are starting a new row for our quilt.

This is the corn flower block.  I think it is my favorite so far.  The yellow parts are suppose to be individual pieces.  I chose to make them different.  I think the fabric I chose makes it look like corn.

Check out Karen's blog.  She does such beautiful applique.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Cathy

Your corn shape still very much depicts what the original design was meant to be.....and a whole lot easier to stitch than the little pieces I did. Well done!

It also looks very tricky, to me, to do that zig-zag edge! Beautiful job!

When you can find the right fabric to give the impression you want, why not. Let the fabric design to the work! Your block is wonderful.

Great fabric choice for your corn flower block. It is hard to stitch all those little curves, you did a great job. I always look forward to seeing your next block.

I think you made the right choice--I don't think I have the gumption that Karen has to do those tiny pieces! Looks great!

This is wonderful! I like how you and Karen are doing the same quilt but they look so different. You're truly making it your own. I hope you're feeling better!
