I finished 2 more blocks for my Christmas BOM. 6 down 3 to go.
Block 5
Block 6
For some reason this block gave me a really hard time. This is the center block for the quilt.
I put up blocks 1-6 up on the design wall.
I'm really liking the looks of this. The next block is a Santa block and then 2 more pieced blocks.
Now for a health update. A month ago I went to the doctor's for my usual 6 month Diabetic check up. Didn't go well. My sugar levels were HIGH. She now wants to see me every 3 months.
Her office called me and asked if I wanted to get some Diabetic counseling. I figured it wouldn't hurt and hopefully it would help. One visit with the counselor and dietitian and a miracle occurred. I found out I wasn't taking my meds correctly. They put me on a diet, told how many carbs to eat at each meal and told me I should have a snack at bedtime each night.
After 2 weeks I have lost 2 pounds and my sugar levels for the first time in quite a while are under 180. I should have done this long ago. Now I just need to get out and walk.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend.
Hugs, Cathy

You are getting close with your Christmas blocks. You have done well this year with sticking to a plan each month....well, pretty well. LOL! I have coherced you along the way.
My husband started seeing a diabetic specialist doctor last year and began a nightly injection. His sugar levels dropped wayyyyy down. He is not good about following a diabetic diet.
Hubby went on a high protein/high fat/ low carb and lost 20 pounds!
I cannot eat the high fat and Celiac, so I am limited but good for you! I walk each day and it makes a big difference! Like your Christmas Quilt!
Beautiful Christmas Blocks, Cathy; glad you went to that counseling for your health.
Looks like things will be looking up for you--great news...hugs, Julierose
Loving the look of this quilt! Very festive and fun. :)
What good news about the changes in your health.
I was having trouble with my celiac numbers, even though I thought I was being so careful. Turns out a supplement I was taking was not gluten free. Now I am in a good range. Amazing what correct use of meds can do, right? :)
Great blocks. This will be wonderful.
Great xmas blocks Cathy, well done xx
Glad you got your meds and diet figured out--I'm sure you feel a lot better too! Your quilt is coming along nicely--so cute!!
I'm so glad you had that appointment and have gotten your meds and diet corrected. Your blocks continue to look great.
Great news on the diabetic front! I bet you are feeling better too!!
Cute quilt blocks Cathy!!
So good to hear you have your meds and diet sorted out. I found that when i cut my carbs a bit my health really improved. It's amazing what a small change can do. Your Christmas quilt is coming along beautifully.
Cute blocks! That will be a cute Christmas quilt!
Good for you for getting your diabetic meds sorted. I hope you continue with good numbers and the diet. It's never easy or fun to deal with health problems. I hope you're feeling better!
