Slow Sewing

A few projects to share.

Antebellum Album Block 5.

I'm using a tea dyed muslin for the background on all my blocks.

Next up is Month 6 of the Land of Liberty quilt sew along hosted by Lori of Humble Quilts.  She gives so much insightful information which is helpful to both people who have the pattern and those that don't.

Lately I've been prepping blocks for Dearest Boy and my Red and Green quilt.

It's been a couple of hard months here.  First we lost my husband's mother.  It was totally unexpected.  His father was struggling with Alzheimer's and mobility issues.  My husband and his brother finally got Dad in a nursing home.  He wasn't doing well and appeared to have given up.  He missed Mom.  Last week on Monday he passed away.  We miss them both very much.

Thank you for stopping by.  Your comments are appreciated.

Hugs, Cathy

So hard for your husband to lose both parents so close together.

I have been seeing lots of blocks made from the Antebellum sew-along and makes me wish I had participated. I don't know if I can find the time. Some of the fabric combos have really intrigued me.

Hi Cathy, so very sorry to hear of you double losses - takes time to get over these things. Been there done that one!

I am curious - how are you feeling? 100% yet? Like your projects! Take care, we are in the Desert Southwest - the new one that is now - South Texas so very very hot 100's plus up to 108 heat index! After a month, I am finally get used to the quick change into horrible heat!

I'm very sorry to hear about your husband's parents. It can be a very challenging time. Stitching a little here and there hopefully, will help keep your spirits up.
