A Small Finish

I made this little Jan Patek quilt a while ago.  I finally decided to machine quilt it.

I did cross hatch quilting.  I have so many quilts to finish I figured I better start getting some of them done.

Next I did another block for my Red and Green quilt.

This is an ongoing project.  I'm in no hurry to finish...seeing I've been working on for 2 years...lol.

I finished all the blocks for my second Christmas quilt.  I plan on sewing the top together later today.

I'm working on the first block for the "Dearest Boy".  It is probably the hardest block I've ever made.  I had nightmares about this block.  Hopefully, I can get it done.  What a pain this block is.  The rest of the blocks look to be a lot easier.  Wish me luck.

Lori at Humble Quilts has posted the blocks to make for month 5 of the "Sweet Land of Liberty" quilt.  So it's going to be a sewing marathon here at Big Lake Quilts.

Well, we had 3 days of hot weather.  Now we are having a couple of days of rainy weather.  We go from one extreme to the other here in Michigan.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.

Hugs, Cathy

We could use the rainy weather here. It has been very dry. I saw on the weather map that, in this local area, it is a "severe drought". June is when our rains usually start.
I am also working on the Dearest Boy block. I am leaving out the "flower" embroidery on the eyelet section as I think it looks fine without. Later today, I will be working on the leaves.
I see you are still plugging away on the red and green project. Good for you. I haven't pulled mine out in ages.

You have so many things in the works. That block for your red and green quilt is really pretty.
You have me very curious about the Dearest Boy block you are making. Hope the nightmares don't keep coming.

Woohoo a finish! And a pretty one at that. I am curious to see which block you are having trouble with as I think there are a lot of blocks in that quilt that would keep me awake at night!

I always love your projects.
Dearest Boy looks hard, but I'm sure you are up for the challenge!!

That's too bad about the nightmares for the Dearest Boy block. I've started making Cheri's Everyday Patchwork sampler quilt with 25 different blocks. To begin with I chose on and sewed it, but then I realized that some of the blocks will be really hard (at least for me). I decided it was better to get the hard ones out of the way and then it will be smooth sailing with the easy ones. Maybe that viewpoint will help? (Or not....) Having seen lots of your other appliques I'm sure you will be successful with Dearest Boy.

I love your little Jan Patek quilt. It's charming. I especially like the "dotty" flower.

What a darling little quilt! I love her patterns. Your red and green block is lovely. Good for you on getting the hardest block done first on Dearest Boy, if it was hard for you I imagine it would be impossible for me, lol. You can do it!!!
