I'm so happy to be participating in Lori's sew along of Cheri Payne's quilt "Land of Liberty". Here is my version of part 1.
It took me a while to get this done but I am so happy with it.
I've had to cut back on projects I wanted to do because of my Bells Palsy. I am continuing to get better every day. My right eye still waters and I am unable to sew or do applique for long periods of time. I still have trouble pronouncing certain words. P's and B's give me the most trouble. I still have an issue when eating, but that too is improving. But I'm getting there.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs, Cathy

Looks great, Cathy!
Praying for you!!
I am so glad you are getting better--
I have trouble pronouncing words and always have--and I haven't had a stroke or anything--just my tongue doesn't want to work right I guess--so know that there are others out here that also have issues so we totally understand at least part of what you might be going through--
you are doing soo good though on still pluggin along on the sewing--
keep it up--
enjoy, di
Great blocks!! It’ll be a treasure for sure! Glad you are getting better! Praying for a quick complete recovery!
Blessings and hugs!
It’s good to hear your getting better. I always enjoy seeing your quilt progress. Hugs,
Hi Cathy...quilt is looking great. So glad you are improving. Keeping you in prayer.
Your quilt progress is lovely. Glad to hear you are making progress as well with your health. That's the most important thing.
It doesn't look like it is effecting your applique or piecing! Great first month blocks!!
Really really love this. I'm glad to hear you're still improving, and am praying for you.
OH Cathy - I am so sorry - I remember now during my six wee of Flu and Sciatica bout that you had that. About 2 weeks after the flu I woke up and my gland on the left was swollen - never had that before. It was my immune system trying to fight of the remainder of the flu. It always scares me about Bells Palsey. I have Meniere's so I really watch my salt so I control it, but if I have ear pain I get worried.
Please take care and will say a prayer that you heal 100% soon! Love your quilt!
I love it and wish I was participating. But, I have too many UFOs to begin another big project.
I love your blocks for this quilt, especially the little Economy blocks and the colors you chose for them. I keep thinking about participating in this quilt-along.... Even if I'm a month behind it would be fun. Maybe.
I'm glad to know you're getting better. I remember a lady at church had it during her pregnancy but didn't know her well enough to keep up with non-visible symptoms nor the healing process. Will you need speech therapy, or physical therapy, or will you just gradually go back to the pre-Bell's Palsy you? The challenges you mention seem unpleasant and I applaud you for continuing to quilt. I hope you continue to get better.
Hello Cathy,
I just joined Land of Liberty and am very excited about it. Yours looks great!
I am sorry to hear about your health. You must have a great attitude because you are noticing progress.
So glad you can still enjoy this SAL while you are healing. The blocks look great.
