Round 4's theme was "Stars".
First up is my Traditional Gwennie Medallion Round Robin. I chose friendship stars because I wanted to celebrate the friendships that came about being a member of the Fab 5 that has chosen the themes. I'm hoping to do some applique in the blank fabric. I'm in a time crunch so it has to wait till later.
Here is my more Modern Gwennie Medallion. I just chose to do stars across the top of the quilt. Sawtooth stars are a favorite.
Wendy has chosen the theme for the next and final round.
She is from Maine and has chose the theme "Something Fishy". She has given some great ideas. Clam shells, scallops, fish fabric, sea birds, Marine animals, boats and ovals & triangles just to name a few and to get your design juices going.
This has been such a great sew along. I am so proud to have been a part of it. I hope you have enjoyed the themes we have come up with. I look forward to seeing every one's quilts.
Linking up with Lori.

I love both of your medallion quilts so far. They are beautiful!! Can't wait to see your next round!!
I like what you did with both of your medallions--very fun!
I agree, it's been a great challenge. Everyone is so brave! I think I am leaning towards your traditional one at this point, what about you? What a different the colours make! I'm finding the same thing. :D
Like them both but I really like the traditional one and the way you're leaving open space to appliqué later.
They are both sensational. I especially love the first one. So Gwennie!
I love them both! (I still can't decide which one I like best!)
This QAL has been the most fun ever! So much inspiration and creativity!
First of all, love the new header photo!
And then, I have been saying how fun it is to see the different interpretations from person to person. Then I come here and am treated to two very different interpretations from the same person. Very creative work. Cathy!!
I haven't managed to get any stars made for my liberated medallion but I'm leaning toward sawtooth stars like yours. More applique in the border of your traditional version will be perfect!
Cathy preciosos los dos
pero mi preferido sigue siendo el dela bola de nieve
la estrella de la amistad ¡¡fantástico !!
saludos
I love the stars....and the reason for the stars!
I love them both! The friendship stars are a nice, personal addition.
Both quilt tops are beautiful. Friendship stars are a favorite always. Plus, what your stars symbolize. Precious :)
Oh yes !! I love the setting and your stars of your traditional quilt !
And the modern is original too....what a work !
I love both of these! Applique would be a wonderful addition to the border on the first one. Says the person who is allergic to applique! Lol
Oh Cathy! They are both just wonderful! I've so enjoyed seeing everyone's take and creativity!
Have a blessed day!
LOVE both of your interpretations!! So much creativity and inspiration!
Great work! I'm so impressed that you could do two completely different interpretations. I love them both, but if I saw them individually, I would never guess that the same person made them. Also . . . I'm pretty sure I could never add a border to just one side :)
Both quilts have a great personal interpretation. They're a nice use of an asymmetrical design.
Fab 5 - I like the sound of that! Both of your quilts are fab ;). Some applique in the border is a great idea.
Ilove both of your quilts! I really like just adding one border to your more modern one, and I really like the open-ness on the border of the more traditional quilt. It's very Gwennie, by the way! It will be interesting to see what you come up with for "fishy"!
I like your new header, but what are they? Cranes of some type, I think.
Both medallions look wonderful but I do love the first. I especially like the open spaces on the sides and bottom -- gives it breathing room, though I'm sure the applique you choose will enhance the border and quilt even more.

The traditional version is my favorite. I like how you spaced the stars on the star border.
Oh Cathy I just adore these - not sure which I love best!!!!
Love the contrast between your two medallions. Had fun with mine now to dream up something fishy.
