Uh Oh...

I was in the middle of writing this post and our Internet went out.  First time this has ever happened before.  It was still out when I went to bed.  Thankfully, it's back up today.

The title of the post was going to be AWOL.

But I'm back now.

We had a wonderful time camping over the 4th weekend.  Terry and I got to the campground on Wednesday.  We had two wonderful restful days.  Then the family started showing up.

Kelley and her brood came on Friday afternoon.  Then on Saturday my daughter Kim and her hubby Robert and my son Mike and his partner Stacy and my grandson Brian and his partner Jess came.  We had such a great day with them all.  And guess what no photo's....I'm so bad.

Home Sunday, partially emptied trailer and took a couple of days to recuperate.

Then I finally got back to the sewing room.

Since I took this picture I have added the top and bottom borders and have prepped the applique leaves.  Hopefully I will finish the top this month.

I worked on another Christmas quilt.

I got 2 more rows made and 2 to go.  My block a day didn't work...life got in the way.  I'm liking this quilt.

Finally I bought another die for my Accuquilt Go so I could make these,

I have always wanted to make a kaleidoscope quilt.  I tried with paper templates and plastic templates and they turned out terrible.  But with the dies each piece was the same.  This is a practice piece.  I used fabrics I didn't really like and had packed away in a shoe box.  The charcoal and light grey is some yardage I had.  I'm planning on making a lap quilt.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Cathy

It sounds like a great trip. I really like your blues and browns blocks. The new die looks like it is going to be a lot of fun too.

Glad to hear you had a nice trip. Your christmas quilt project is great ~
I'm still trying to catch up from my trip too!

Accuquilt makes a kaleidoscope die? Woo hoo!! I'm SO glad to know that as I was resigned to making one via FPP. I don't dislike FPP, but regular piecing would be so much quicker ... and the die would ensure the same accuracy that I'd get with FPP. I'm off to order that die right now (just finished ordering the tumbler die, so maybe it's not too late to add this die to my earlier order).

Well, I just searched the Accuquilt website and there isn't a die set for the kaleidoscope quilt. So can you please share the die number? Pretty please? Thanks!!

Beautiful quilts and you are so wise to start early for Christmas gifts.

Reminds me I've got a big family campout coming in less than two weeks. I may not be ready with much else, but at least my hand stitching projects are prepped.
Your projects are all great. I want to make a kaleidoscope quilt, too, but I have such trouble remembering how to spell it, that I don't know if I can blog about it if I ever do make it. : )

Welcome home - glad you had a good time! You don't have WOW, do you? I heard they were out, they got hacked or something.

Your blocks are all so gorgeous, girl. You just don't know how I envy you your perfect piecing!

You've been busy! I started making the 6" blocks with Cheri's SAL, than added some that Temecula Quilts was doing, plus a few of my own choice. I'm still deciding how to set them all together - it's been fun! I love your blue quilt for Christmas - a gift I'm guessing? Fun stuff!

It's fun to get away and out of the house in summer. I love your quilt projects!

All those pieced blocks look good with a dark setting. I tend to gravitate towards dark quilts.

How wonderful to have a family camping trip! It is so hard to get everyone together sometimes. I printed off Cheri's blocks, but have not started on them yet. I love what you have done with them. A die for a kaleidoscope quilt would be great.
