I'm On A Roll

This cold weather is giving me plenty of time to sew and quilt.

My 1996 Signature quilt is all machine quilted.  It looks a little puffy because in my haste to get a UFO finished I used up some left over batting that was a little too thick.  The binding is waiting for me to tack it down and I will have myself another finish for January.

I've dug in my pile of UFOs and found a couple of smaller quilts to finish this month.

The first is this spools quilt.  Just the right size for a table topper.  I'm going to machine quilt it and then bind it.  I've had this one for a couple of years.

This was a "This and That Monday Mystery" quilt from last year.  I want to add a couple of borders and then machine quilt it.  BTW..she is doing another Mystery Monday Quilt .  It just started.  All the mysteries are listed on the side of her blog.

I had a real surprise yesterday.  I got a package in the mail....

I was so surprised.  I don't remember ordering them.  I usually get books for my Kindle.  There wasn't an invoice or note or anything.

They were both autographed too by the author.  So if someone got them for me I thank you so much.  And if I had a senior moment (which happens often) good for me.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you are staying warm.  I just got back from doing a little shopping and it is 11 degrees out.  Heat wave.

Hugs, Cathy

Good for you on your finish. I like your little quilts that are in line for finishing.
That is pretty interesting about the books. If you had ordered them, wouldn't there be an invoice inside? I recall someone doing a giveaway with that Christmas Quilt book, but it looks like someone did this specially for you! Cool! : )

I think your Monday Mystery quilt is the best one of the mystery designs. At least for my taste. I had forgotten about her patterns. I have bookmarked the one you mae.

I forgot to mention that I have a copy of the Sandra Dallas Christmas Quilt book to read. I have read all her other books and like them very much.

What a great surprise in the mail. S. D. lives in the Denver area, still I think, and I've heard her speak before. A great author. Congrats on your finish. If that cold weather sticks around too long, you'll have everything done!

It always feels so good to get a quilt finished! I really like your spools quilt. The books were certainly a nice surprise. I have read those two and liked them both.

Wonderful to get a finish ... Or at least coming soon. Your quilts are lovely. We aren't getting quite as cold weather but it feels good to stay in and quilt and piece.

I just finished A Quilt For Christmas. A VERY good read and would recommend it highly. Had not read anything else by this author prior to that book but will be checking out more from the library ... soon!
