Busy Weekend

I was busy this weekend.  Knocked off 3 items on my "To Do" list.

First up... Pat Sloan's Globetrotting BOM for March.

Here are Jan, Feb, and March blocks all together.

Next is March block for Sugar Shack BOM.

I love the fabric I chose for these blocks.  Here are Jan, Feb, and March blocks together.

And finally the March blocks for Country Threads BOM.

I am trying to keep these blocks scrappy.  Here are Jan, Feb, and March blocks.  Still don't have a clue what this quilt will look like.

So now I have 3 items scratched off my "To Do" list.

I started one of the projects on my list.  It is the Shoo Fly QAL on Pat Sloan's blog.

I am using a charm pack designed by Jan Patek called "Back Porch".  I am in love with this fabric.

I'm making this quilt for the daughter of my husband's best friend Don's daughter.  Don is about 20 years older than my husband.  He recently lost his wife.  When his daughter was going through her Mom's things she came across her grandmother's Featherweight Sewing Machine.  Debbie doesn't sew and she knows I do...So she gave me the machine.   So this quilt will be my thank you to Debbie.

Didn't get too much done yesterday.  It snowed yet again on Saturday into Sunday.  The roads were so bad that we couldn't get out.  So yesterday was spent going to the post office (mailing the final giveaway book to Patti), grocery shopping, and paying bills.  It took most of the day.  So I am happily going to spend most of the day working on the shoo fly quilt.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you get to do something you love today.

Hugs, Cathy

Look at you go! I don't know how you do it!
What a nice gesture to make a quilt as a thank you for the featherweight.
Did you have a featherweight already--can't remember?

What a lovely gesture from your husband's friend and what a sweet gesture back from you. My fun today...heading to the quilt shop to find a backing. :0)

The Scrappy Shoo Fly piqued my interest. I have a scrap basket overflowing. But I should not start another project.

Wow, a gift of a Featherweight machine. I have three and don't need another but I surely love them and would take a gift of one.

Love the bee fabric in Sugar Shack... and your fabric choices to go with it are wonderful! I can't get over how busy you keep yourself!
How very kind of you to be making a quilt for the dear daughter who's mother used the gifted Featherweight to sew with.. a lovely idea!

You were a busy girl this weekend and love the fabrics/ block in your BOMs. What a generous gift your friend gave you, do you know it's age? Featherweights sew like no other machine, I love mine.

I love my featherweight. It is so easy to take places. What a great thank you gift that quilt will be. Is the QA a row by row? I may have to go take a look at it. Thanks for enabling me! Ha! Have a warm day without too much of the white stuff!
