Busy

Snowy weather makes for good sewing time.  I've started new projects, pulled out on going projects and am finishing a quilt.

The new project is a pattern I showed you recently.

These are the blocks for Month 1.  They are quite big.  That made the applique go quickly.

I pulled out the red and green blocks.  I hadn't worked on them for a while.  The block on the far right is my latest.  I pulled a couple more blocks to start prepping.

Another project that needed working on is Cheri Payne's Sew Spooky quilt.

This is the first block I made.

Here is the block I just finished.  I love a cat with character.

This is what has been taking up most of my time.  I'm quilting the wedding quilt.  It has been such a joy quilting with my Juki.  I love how smoothly it is going.  The stitch regulator keeps all the stitches even.  I do love this machine.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Finally

It is already April and I just now have a finished project.

I showed you this quilt as a top earlier this year.  The other day I decided I needed to try out quilting with my new machine.  It has 3 speeds...I chose the slowest.  I did free motion quilting around the stem, leaves and flower.  I was so happy with the results.  Okay they weren't the best.  I'm pretty rusty with FMQ.  But the stitches were all the same size and the back of the quilt looked good.  Then I did straight stitching around the coin strips.  This was actually finished on March 31.  So it will be my March mini quilt.  This is a Cheri Payne pattern.

I have the top half of the "Wedding Quilt" sewn together.  The second half is on the design wall.

Today I plan on getting this sewn together and then I can put both halves together.  Next step is to quilt it.  The blocks are 12".  I have till the 22nd of this month to get it finished.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Land of Liberty

I finished part 3 of the Land of Liberty sew along.

This was applique heavy.  I really love how it turned out.  I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this quilt and kept putting off deciding to do it or not.  I am so glad I decided to to it.

I'm up to date on the Temecula 1800 Sampler sew along.

These are 4" finished blocks.  I can't wait to see how this quilt will come together.

A month from now is the Wedding Shower for my soon to be Granddaughter.  I have 20 sets of coasters made...20 to go.  I was working on a quilt for the couple and my grandson made some comments of what colors he liked.  The quilt didn't match his choices.  So....I started a new quilt.  I'm half way done.

It's up on my design wall and the photo looks wonky.  I have to make another 12 blocks.  The quilt is totally cut out so it will go together quickly.  Then I need to quilt it.  So glad I got the new machine.

Well I think Spring is finally on the horizon.  We still have snow in spots and it's still been on the cold side.  However, the sun is shining and the Robins have returned home.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great day.
