Dearest Boy

This short month has thrown me off.  I totally forgot that we were revealing the next block today.

We were given templates to make this block.  I decided to paper piece the block instead.

I love this block.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to stop by Karen'sJulie's and Carole's Blogs to see what they have been up to.

Busy Busy

It's a finish...well a finished top.  My UFO for the month of February is Sentimental Stitches "Simple Summer Sampler".

The original quilt had the blocks sewn on point.  There was a total of 50 blocks.  I decided to sew my blocks together with sashing and corner stones.  As you can see above I could barely fit 5 rows on my design wall.  I ended up using 49 blocks.  The blocks are set seven across and seven down.

I don't have any where to show you the full size of the quilt.  Here it is layed out on my bed.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Here is my mini quilt for February.  I believe it is a pattern that Temecula Quilts offered for free.

I'm joining Wendy for both the monthly mini's and the Pam Buda book sew along.  I ended up sewing my little quilt "Emma" to a little hanger.

Here is my UFO for March.  It is the Sally Post quilt.  I have 14 blocks made and need an additional 22.  It will be interesting to see if I can get this one finished.

Here is my almost finish.  I finished quilting this yesterday.  I used random straight line quilting.  I trimmed it up this morning and plan on binding it today.  It feels good to finally have a finish.

I appreciate you stopping by and any comments you might leave.

An Update

Lots of bad weather and a lot of sewing being done.

I started the Barbara Brackman new BOM "Hospital Sketches".  However since I'm already working on too many projects I opted on doing the smaller version of the blocks called "Sprouts".

Very doable with the time I have available.  Cute too!.

My UFO for February is my "Simple Summer Sampler" by Sentimental Stitches.  I started out needing to make an additional 33 blocks.  I'm happy to say I only have 5 blocks left to make.  Hopefully I will have a quilt top by the end of the month.

I couldn't get all the blocks together at once on my design wall so I had to take 2 photos.  5 blocks to go and I can start assembling the quilt.

I finally got the red border done on my Folk Flowers quilt.

I'm not in a rush to finish this one.  The next border will be the same fabric as the applique blocks and will have vines, flowers and birds appliqued.

Next up is Pat Sloan's "Flower Bouquet" BOW.  A new block pattern is given every Wednesday for 20 weeks.

I didn't realize when I started working on this that I am using the same fabrics in my "Simple Summer Sampler".  However I am using the same background fabric in all of the Flower Bouquet blocks.

And finally the second block in Pat Sloan's "Out of this World" BOM

I'm using batiks and a background fabric with writing on it.

So you can see with the snow, sleet and winds I've had plenty of time to get some sewing done.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed my projects.

Dearest Boy Block 4D

I hope you all had a nice Valentines Day.  We had a half way decent day for a change.  No snow or freezing rain.  That's a good day.

Now for the latest Dearest Boy block.

My photo is a little blurry...must be the camera...it couldn't possibly be me.

This was a fun block to make.  It went together quickly.

Be sure to stop by Karen'sJulie's and Carole's to see their version of the block.

I've have a lot of updates on different projects I'm working on and hope to share photos with you in the next couple of days.  Until then stay warm and get some sewing done.

Thanks for stopping by.
