Okay

It's been a month since I had my surgery on my left hand.  This one has taken longer to heal than the first.  I still have some soreness.  I have been able to get some sewing done.  However, a couple of weeks ago I pulled a muscle in my abdomen.  It has been painful and some days I can't even walk.  Today has been a good day.  I have to wait a couple of weeks taking pain pills and naproxen before I go back to the doctors.  Hopefully this will work.

I got the rows of my Chained Reaction sewn into a top.

I cut out this quilt about 2 years ago and only got one block sewn.  So I am so happy to have finished the quilt top.  I'm hoping to be able to get it quilted soon.

I had decided this is the year to finish up some UFO's.  My next top is a Kaleidoscope quilt.  I made the blocks over a year ago and they were test blocks using my Accuquilt Go.

This is a table topper size.  I am itching to make a full size bed quilt using this die.

My final top is composed of 6" blocks from a couple of projects.

It looks wonky because it is up on the design wall.  The quilt is approx. 36"x50".
I chose a red border because there was so much red in the blocks.

I'm slowly working on some hand applique and I want get some more prepped.  I'm plugging away and trying to get some more UFO's finished.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hopefully I will be posting again next week.

Plugging Away

I'm slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things.  Although I can fully use my right hand it gets sore if I do to much.  This will eventually go away.  I am having Carpal Tunnel done on my left hand next Monday the 10th.  Then I have to start all over again.

I finished sewing the rows of blocks for my Chain Reaction.

I love the jelly roll I used.  It is a Fig Tree fabric.  After my hand surgery I will sew the rows into a quilt top.  This is a project I started in 2014.

I'm trying to work on some of my older UFOs.

This is from a few years ago.  It's an APQ quilt along.  This is block #8.  Only 12 to go.

Another on going project.  This is a Cheri Payne pattern called Common Threads.

This is block #11.  It's the second for this block.  The first one was used in another quilt.

I've been getting the Sew Sampler Box from the FQ Shop since they started.  Each month I received a pattern for a block.  The last box I received contained the 12th block and setting instructions.

I decided to start it.  This block is 8" and the fabric I am using if from a fabric roll of Japanese fabric.  The theme is Alice in Wonderland.

I've been working on Sally Post block #14 I don't have anything to show you.   As I said earlier I can only work on my hand work for a short time before my hands start to hurt.  This is on hold till after my left hand surgery.

As Promised...

Here is a picture of my quilt (Chain Reaction) for Quiltmaker Magazine....

I had so much fun working on this quilt.  One thing that I didn't share on Quiltmaker's Blog is I ran out of the background fabric (because of piecing errors) and had to substitute a different fabric.  Luckily you can't tell.  And then I didn't know what fabric to use for the binding so I bought some fabric similar to the background.  Sure am glad they all blended well.

You really should bookmark Quilmaker's blog Quilty Pleasures not just to see my quilts (big smile) but for all the wonderful information on it.  They also have so many giveaways.  Right now they are giving away some quilt tops.  So please check it out.
