How it's Going

Okay so I took some time of to get some Christmas quilts made.  I did manage to get two tops made (no photos yet).  I was hoping to get lots done however things don't always work out as planned.

I was having some bladder problems and my doctor sent me to a Urologist.  She had me get a CT Scan and they discovered I have bladder cancer.  Wednesday I had surgery to remove the tumor.  I tell you I feel like a Mac Truck ran over me.  Each day gets better but I'm still pretty sore.

They left the catheter in and I will go Monday to the doctors to have the catheter removed.  Friday I go and see my doctor to see what's next.

Two years ago just before my birthday I found out I had breast cancer and had surgery the week after my birthday.  Now two years later just before my birthday I found out I have bladder cancer and a week later surgery.  Well I was talking with my daughter and we decided no more birthdays.  She and I will be gloriously 50 from now on.

I will keep you updated on whats happening and I will continue to read your blogs.  Hopefully I will be able to get back to sewing soon.

Hugs, Cathy

Cathy, I’m sorry to hear that you are once again facing cancer and the treatments you’ll need. I will keep you in my thoughts. I should have put the brakes on at my 50th - what a good idea that would have been. 🙂

Wow--I can see why you would decide on no more birthdays as the best option! Will keep you in my prayers for a full recovery!

I’m so sorry that you are having to go thru all this. Last February my children all came home to celebrate my 70th birthday. We decided to celebrate 2 days early on a Saturday night. On Sunday I woke up not feeling great a few hours later I ended up in the emergency room and put on a ventilator! The next day I woke up and it was my birthday. I had double pneumonia! Spent a week in the hospital and got to go home. I was home for a week and ended up back in the emergency room with congestive heart failure. Spent another week in the hospital. This year on my birthday we are having a do over and I’m going to try really hard not to get sick.😂 Hugs,

Oh Cathy, what awful birthday news both times around. You are well on your way having finished your surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope that they were able to get out all the cancer during the surgery.

What sad news! I hope you're continuing to feel better and that you get good news from your urologist (as in, no major procedures, etc.) It's amazing how a surgery can lay us so low for such a long time.
I agree, not more birthdays is a great plan!
Take care.
