Overwhelmed

I have made a decision.  I'm working on too many BOM's, BOW's, BOD's and I don't have time to work on anything else..  I have been sick with a terrible head cold for the last couple of days.  Just enough time to get behind on everything. So I decided to drop some.  I will continue to keep the patterns but I just can't keep up any more.

365 blocks, Splendid Sampler and 1857 Sampler will be put on hold.  I will continue to save the patterns and work on them when time permits.  This will give me time to work on some WIP and get some quilts quilted.  Whew....I feel so much better.

I have a finish to show you.  Small, wonky but sweet.

This is a quilt from Cheri Payne's pattern "A Good Day"  It is 11" square.  I heavily quilted it and that made it wonky  but I still love it.

I also finished the next block for Barbara Brackman's BOM.

I'm going to use the same background print in all blocks and use a red, white and blue theme.

Today is beautiful.  The sun is shining the skies are blue and I am starting to feel so much better.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Hugs, Cathy

You are a wise woman, Cathy. There are so many tempting "free" projects, but they definitely cost us in time, and that is a limited resource!
I love the little finish--wonkiness and all!

When it stops being fun, it is time to re-evaluate.

We're suppose to be having fun and when it starts to be frustrating, it's time to shift gears.

It is so easy to get involved in so many fun projects! I agree...sometimes you have to let a few things go!

I don't blame you one little bit for setting aside projects. I want to keep up with the 1857 blocks as, in the past, I have saved three sets of patterns from Sentimental Stitches and never have gotten a start on them. I tend to forget about them because other quilters have kept up, finished their quilts, and moved on to other wonderful projects. Not that I don't get a lot of stitching done. It is just more fun to do it when everyone else is.
I will try not to tempt you with any more projects.....though I did have an idea. LOL!

You are absolutely right about so many BOMs and stitch a long groups that we just don't have time nor energy to try and keep up with. All we can do is pick and choose and remember to SAVE those FREE patterns because usually they disappear or priced to sell. When I see what all others quilt/stitch I wonder if anything else gets done in one's home. Too many distractions....to include this computer! Hee! Hope you get feeling well soon!!!
