End of the Month

This month has flown by.  Time to share some more projects.

`1.  Celebrating Mary Brown.

These blocks finish off the first two rows.  I'm hoping to get two blocks for next month.

2.  Pat Sloan's Jelly Flake Sew Along.

She is running this sew along again next month.  I made this quilt in just a few days.  Now all I need to do is get it quilted.

3.  Another Pat Sloan sew along.  Bring Home the Tree.

We are doing a row a week.  I need to make another tree block and a station wagon with a tree on top for this week.

4.  Another Pat Sloan sew along.  This one is Out West.

This quilt has been on the back burner since Pat broke both her wrists.  This month we made the bottom left block and the bottom right block.  We were give the layout a while ago but I just started to put the blocks together last week.

5.  Aunt Em's Baskets and Blooms Sew Along.

This is the first block.  It's tulip.

6.  Mrs. Lincolns Quilt.

We are now half way through this quilt.

7.  And finally my last project to share.

I made this mini using the leftovers from my quilt doodles block.  My husband told me the white on white fabric glows in the dark.  He said it freaked him out when he saw it glowing.  This mini quilt is 9" square.

Well that's if for now.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'll be back if not before then on the 15th of September.

It's been a hot Summer

But it's cool in my sewing room in the basement.

I've been getting some sewing done.

1.  I have finished 3 more blocks for the 3030 Block of the week.  I still need to         work on the Medallion Center Block.

2.  Annabelle BOM.  Yep I did it again.  I signed up for another BOM from               Connecting Threads.  This is the first block which is a 24" center block.  I'm           loving the fabric.

3.  Derby House BOM.  Here are this months blocks.  I finally started working on the Applique block from last month.  Yes I am getting behind.  But I'm staying busy.

4.  Jelly Snowflake Sew Along Quilt.  I saw so many beautiful photos of this quilt that the Fat Quarter Shop was sharing.  I just had to make my own.  Just finished the blocks.  I now need to sew them together.

5.  Quilt Doodles BOM.  I fell in love with this month's block.  I want to make an entire quilt using this block.

This is it for now.  I have a few other project to share with you at the end of the month.  Like I said I've been keeping busy.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I look forward to your comments.

Keeping busy

And trying to keep cool.  It's been crazy hot and humid here.  With no central air I have been sewing in the basement and it is a lot more comfortable.

Well it's the end of the month and time to share some more projects.

1.  Celebrating Mary Brown

The sunflowers were suppose to have spiky edges.  I chose a more relaxed curve.  This is the bottom left block of the four corner blocks for the end of the first 2 rows.  I have all four sewn together and will finish them up for August.

2.  Mrs. Lincoln's Quilt.

I'm working on this quilt with Julie.  We are just doing 2 blocks a month.  These blocks are 8". The pattern calls for 6" blocks and Julie is making 10" blocks.

3.  3030 Block of the week.

One week we made 4 of the same block, the stars.  Then just one.  I still have the block for last week to do.  It's an appliqued block.

4.  Derby House BOM

Here are the pieced blocks.  I still have to make the applique block for this month.  It is 14" square and is of a house, dog, wagon, and vines.  It is very elaborate so I'm taking my time with it so I get it right.

5.  Monthly Mini

This is a 12" mini quilt.  I didn't get one made last month.

6.  Quilts for Christmas gifts.

This is in progress.  It's all cut out just waiting for me to sew.

I finished sewing this top together.  I need to figure out a backing and how to quilt it.  I love how it turned out.

That is about it as far as sewing.  The rest of the time I have going for check-ups with my various doctors.  Because of covid all my appointments were pushed back.  Two weeks ago I saw my Radiation Oncologist.  Last week I saw my Oncologist.  Monday I saw my family Doctor.  Friday I go for a mammogram and ultra sound.  Next month I get my eyes checked and have an appointment with the Medicare Wellness Nurse.  Whew.....The only time I get out of the house is to see a doctor.  So far all my check ups and tests have been good.  Once I'm done next month it will start all over in 6 month.

I did manage to go to the grocery store yesterday.  It is the first time I've gone shopping since covid.  Thankfully the store wasn't crowded.  I filled my cart and headed for the check out.  All of a sudden there was an announcement saying the registers were down.  After 45 minutes they got 2 registers up and running.  They stopped allowing customers coming in to the store.  With only 2 registers running it took about another 20 minutes before I got out of the store.  They had to shut down the 2 registers so they could reboot all of them.  I don't think I'll be going back for a while....lol

I hope you are all well and keeping safe.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Mid Month Check In

I've been busy.  Nothing new here.  Ah but there is something new.  I started a new BOM through Connecting Threads.

It is called "Seasons".  It runs for 6 months.

1.  Here is month 1 blocks.

The blocks were really easy to make.

2.  Quilt Doodles BOM

This is going to be a huge quilt.  Each month's blocks consist of 4 10" blocks sewn together to make one large 20" square.

3.  3030 Block of the week.

This is block 5 from last week.  Today I need to make this weeks block, 4 sawtooth stars.

4.  Barbara Brackman's Yankee Notions.

This is a simplified version of the block.

5.  Bee in My Bonnet Quilt a Long.

These are the last three blocks.

I added sashing and a muslin border (not shown in this photo).  It was a fun a fast quilt to make.

I'm working on the sashing for my  Providence BOM.  As soon as I get it done I will post a photo.

I hope you have been productive and are finishing up some projects.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Time Flies again!

I had every plan of posting more often...but I didn't.  So I have a lot to share.

1.  Sentimental Stitches 3030 Block of the Week.

Block 1

 Block 2

 Block 3

 Block 4

2.  Bee in My Bonnet Block of the Week.

3.  Barbara Brackman's Yankee Notions.

This is block 6.  It was supposed to machine pieced.  I didn't want to do that so I made a large miss shaped 9 patched and then I appliqued the curved pieces on to the block.  It turned out good.

4.  Celebrating Mary Brown.

This is last month's block.  It took forever to finish.

This is this month's block.  I didn't have enough light when I photographed it.  The background is the same as the first block.

Here are all the blocks for the first two rows (Minus the ones I just finished) put together.  Next up is the 4 block for the corner.

5.  Providence BOM.

These are the blocks for month 4.  So now all the blocks for the quilt are finished.  They are 12" finished blocks.

6.  Mrs. Lincolns Quilt.

These are blocks from Month 10.  I'm working on this quilt with Julie at juliekquilts.blogspot.com.

7.  Derby House BOM.

I have 2 more appliqued seed blocks to finish.  But I knew I wouldn't get them done in time.

8.  A Finish...finally

This is the quilt designed by a group of quilters led by Lori at Humble quilts.  I finally got it bound and a label sewn on the back.  I so love this quilt.

I tried to add links to this post but i can't.  Blogger says it no longer supports this.  Not sure if I like the new blogger...this is the old blogger.

I hope you all enjoyed the photos.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Playing Catch Up

And starting new...

1. I finished the applique block from last month for my Derby House BOM.

I love the fabrics used in this quilt.  They are Mackinaw Island by Minick and Simpson.

2. Quilt Doodles.

These blocks finish at 20".

3.  I started a new quilt project.

It is a new BOW by Bee in my Bonnet using her Christmas book.  This will be a quick quilt.

4.  Another new quilt.

This is the first block for Sentimental Stitches BOW called 3030.  The original used fabrics from the 30's.  I'm going more country colors.

5.  Here's the photo of my finished Rainbow Quilt.

I quilted it in a large cross hatch.

6.  I finished my Salt Water Taffy quilt top.

Hubby held it up outside.  It was a sunny day and the colors look a little washed up.

I'm still working on last month's Mary Brown block.  There are so many tiny leaves and my eyes get tired working on them

Oops, I did it again.  I signed up for another Connecting Threads BOM.  This one will also come with fabric.  It is a Calendar themed quilt.  When I get the first month's package I will show you what it looks like.

I don't think I'm doing too bad for the first week of June.  However, I have so many projects and so little time.

Thanks for stopping by.  I so enjoy hearing your comments.
