Sunshine

It always puts me in a good mood.  Sunshine, higher temps and the little snow we got melted.  Later today we are going for a walk at Lake St. Clair Metro Park. Maybe I can take my camera and get some pics.  Till then.....

Here are some more blocks I got made for the Ohio Collection Quilt.

The first block is called Peony.  Lots of challenges with this block.  My first time doing Y seams.  Not perfect but thank goodness it is done.  The second block is Evening Star.  I love star blocks.

Here is a photo of all my finished blocks together.  I have 4 blocks to make and I will be caught up...hopefully.  The Eagle block, Pinetree block, Ohio Rose block and the basket block that Karen graciously shared with me.

Next up is Block #14 for the Common Threads Quilt by Cheri Payne.

I really love this block.  I can see a quilt made with this block.  The logs are 1/2" finished.  I used my Accuquilt Go to cut the strips.  Sooooo much easier than doing it by hand.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Now I need to get busy cutting out blocks and templates.

Hugs, Cathy

  2. So nice to catch up on your blog!! I just LOVE all your blocks!! I think the Ohio Samplers are just fantastic!!! Glad you are getting some sunshine! We are pretty warm here in Texas again today - in the mid 80's. We had a nice wet winter, so are in good shape for the spring and early summer, but hoping for some spring rains in April and May!

    Blessings and hugs!

  3. Love the courthouse steps tiny logs! A Go would be perfect for that.

You are doing amazing at getting caught up on the Ohio sampler. I love your blocks. That peony was a real pain.

  7. Your log cabin block is gorgeous! I've made an awful lot of log cabin quilts, but I've never made one using the courthouse steps setting. I have used my GO to cut strips, too - makes it so easy, doesn't it?

Your Ohio Collection blocks are coming along and looking great. I too love star blocks.
