This has been a month to remember. I managed to finish everything on my monthly project list. Well all except this month's UFO. I only got one block made for it. The reason being we went camping for a week with my daughter Kelley and her husband Chris. We had such a great time. But that took a week out of my sewing time.
I got lots done but I won't bore you with all the photos.
1. Celebrating Mary Brown.
I love how this block turned out.2. Mrs. Lincoln's Quilt
3. A FinishI've had this quilt top put together for quite awhile. It was a block swap I participated in with quilters from all over the world. We left to go camping on a Wednesday and I wanted to take a quilt. So Monday I cut and sewed the backing, sandwiched it and pinned it. On Tuesday I quilted and bound the quilt. I did a vertical wavy stitch and used some leftover red binding from a couple of different projects. I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I used it on the cooler evenings.
4. Barbara Brackman's Ladies Aid.
5. Home for the Holidays BOM
This is the new BOM I signed up for with Connecting Threads. Each month you get a row to work on. I love these trees. However, I forgot how hard it is to work with black fabric. It's a real pain.
I'll show more next month. I will however leave you with a few pictures from our camping trip.
Here is our dogs, son in law Chris and Hubby Terry. We were camping at Algonac State Park and that's the St. Clair River.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a happy and safe Memorial Day.
Hugs, Cathy

Your blocks look wonderful. I love the x and + finish. I did one as a swap years ago and still love it.
ReplyDeleteYour BOM are great. You do so well keeping up. Glad you had a chance to go cam already. May's mini great for a patriotic weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou did beautiful work on your blocks, and I especially love the first one. I also like your little patriotic mini. But I am really impressed that you could quilt and bind that quilt so quickly!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to say, the campsite looks like a very relaxing place, with the beautiful river flowing past.
Looks like such a refreshing place to camp. Your May mini is perfect for Memorial Day. You are so diligent with your BOMs and make such great progress. Your latest Mary Brown block so oh so pretty. Your block swap quilt is absolutely terrific! I love the red crosses and all that variety of fabrics. What a fun quilt. I love the scrappiness of it so much.
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely projects--I especially love the Mary Brown block! I finally broke down this weekend and started the Ladies Aid blocks. We'll see how far I get--lol!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, your accomplishments send me spinning! Your May mini is perfect! I spent yesterday at the VA cemetery visiting my Dad and other relatives and I went home wishing I had made a red, white and blue mini this month. Thanks for another great mini!!
ReplyDeleteLate getting around to reading your post. Love your MB block. I finally have another ready to stitch. Need to get back into the swing of her blocks again. Bet it was worth it to take a week off to be with family!!
