I was hoping to get back to posting more often but that dreaded virus that has been going around visited my house. First my husband had it and then I got it. He's feeling fine and I am on day 10. Feeling better but still not back to normal.
Any way I got a lot done this month.
1. Celebrating Mary Brown.
This block was much easier to make than it appears. Be sure to stop by and see what my fellow conspirators are up to.
Karen, Nanette, Jennie, Robin, and Rebecca.
2. Mrs. Lincoln's Quilt.
I'm working on this quilt with Julie. She thought Mary Brown would be too much (and she was right). This is a quilt I've been wanting to do for a while.
3. Cheddarback Quilt.
This photo is a little blurry. This is month 10 so we are coming to an end.
4. Derby House.
This month we had both pieced and an applique block. I really love the plaids. I can't wait to get February's patterns and fabric.
5. Pat Sloan's Out West.
Once again I said I wasn't going to join in another sew along....hee hee. For this quilt I purchased one of the recommended FQ bundles from the FQ Shop. The blocks are 12".
6. Quilt Doodles BOM.
I will be doing this in reds and lights. This block consists of 4 10" blocks. So there will be 12 - 20" blocks.
7. Barbara Brackman's Yankee Notions.
I'm going to be using neutrals for this quilt. The blocks are 12"
I think that is it. But who knows.
I did get a mini quilt finished.
This quilt was started a couple of years ago. Don't know why it was never finished because all it needed was a little bit of hand quilting and the binding.
Well that's it for now. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs, Cathy

What a lovely collection of blocks--
ReplyDeleteI especially like that antique bird block..so pretty and charming..hugs, Julierose
You have really really been busy. I love the new header. I counted 7 BOMs that you are working on. What an overachiever - ha! Mary Brown looks great, I love the fussy cutting. The frame around the cherries is fascinating. Derby house sure tempted me. I love the applique. Such a fun post.
ReplyDeleteI was typing a comment and it all disappeared. Try again.
ReplyDeleteYour Mary Brown block is quite pretty. Nicely selected fussy cut parts. And I agree that the design was easier to stitch than it appeared it might be.
I have looked at the Derby pattern several times but not given in to it. Love your bird block. I see you are getting kits for it.
You don't know how many times I have said I would not mind making a second Mrs. Lincoln quilt. I enjoyed stitching the blocks.
You have been busy! I love how you fussy cut your Mary Brown block. All your projects are really coming along. I love those Derby House blocks, I will have to check that one out.
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful blocks. I'm in love with the bird. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteWow Cathy, you've been busy. Lovely stuff, and the little mini is right up my ally.
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss Barbara B.'s Yankee Notins?!?
You've got a lot of projects going on. The celebrating Mary Brown block is SO pretty and your fussy cutting enhances it so much! I too am doing Yankee Notions.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely group of blocks. Your needle has been busy all month.
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, you really HAVE been able to get so much completed, in spite of 10 days of sickness!
ReplyDeleteWow! You have been one busy quilter. I love all of your blocks....you do a great job with your fabric choices. Happy stitching.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Great job!! Love the Derby quilt blocks!
ReplyDeleteI just love this little mini and I finally got it linked in! So adorable. Thanks for traveling along!
