I'm a Pat Sloan Fan

I love all her BOM's and sew alongs.  I don't always join in but I save all the patterns.  This time however I am joining in on 2 sew alongs.

The first is "Out of the World".  I'm not using the same fabric as she is.  I am using some batiks that I got a while ago.  Here is the first block.

It's called "Space Shuttle".  Mine is called "Star Gazing".

The other sew along is called Flower Bouquet.

This is a 12" block.  It is the first of 20 blocks and it is called "Seed Catalog".  I'm using a fat quarter bundle designed by Edyta Sitar.  Lots of blues and beige's.

My January UFO is coming along nicely.  I now have 9 pieced blocks made and I have one applique prepped and ready to go.  I really want to finish this top by the end of the month.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you get some time to get some sewing done.

Hugs, Cathy

  2. I have so many of Pat’s patterns that are free. This year I am limiting my monthly to only one! Then And Again Quilts https://thenandagainquilts.wordpress.com/2019/01/04/red-and-black-double-t-quilt/ is doing a little BOM doing Capital T blocks. She has done a lot of research work on this project. I am, of course 3 months behind, but plan on catching up and this will be the only one I even think about doing!

I have my proposed list and my real ‘I will do’ list ready to go after completing my Brinton Hall version so I am caught up from prior years!

You will have a pretty quilt at the end of the year.

  5. I like the colors in Star Gazing. I have no batiks in my stash.

I just purchased the two Splendid Sampler quilt books. I just recently started watching Pat Sloan's Fireside Chats and getting more interested in doing some of the sampler blocks.

  7. Wow Cathy those are so pretty!!! I love Pat Sloan too - I remember if I saw a magazine with a pattern in it by her, I would buy it. I wonder what happened to them.....haven't seen any quilt magazines since we moved, maybe I should explore my closets, lol!!!
