Land of Liberty

I finished part 3 of the Land of Liberty sew along.

This was applique heavy.  I really love how it turned out.  I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this quilt and kept putting off deciding to do it or not.  I am so glad I decided to to it.

I'm up to date on the Temecula 1800 Sampler sew along.

These are 4" finished blocks.  I can't wait to see how this quilt will come together.

A month from now is the Wedding Shower for my soon to be Granddaughter.  I have 20 sets of coasters made...20 to go.  I was working on a quilt for the couple and my grandson made some comments of what colors he liked.  The quilt didn't match his choices.  So....I started a new quilt.  I'm half way done.

It's up on my design wall and the photo looks wonky.  I have to make another 12 blocks.  The quilt is totally cut out so it will go together quickly.  Then I need to quilt it.  So glad I got the new machine.

Well I think Spring is finally on the horizon.  We still have snow in spots and it's still been on the cold side.  However, the sun is shining and the Robins have returned home.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great day.

Hugs, Cathy

  1. There is a lot of applique on Land of Liberty--good job getting caught up. I didn't even debate within whether or not to do it, because of all the applique. :)
I'm sure your grandson would have appreciated whatever you were making, but it was really nice of you to start a new quilt in the colors he prefers.

  2. I have been saving the Temecula patterns but not done anything with them. You have rolled right into and doing well.
Your Liberty quilt is coming along just fine. The whole quilt has a lot of applique. I still have not taken time to find my UFO of this quilt. Has to be in the quilt closet but I am on a roll with other quilt projects. So I do not want to go digging out old projects.

Love your other blocks too. I'm sure they would have loved the original colorway as well.
