Antebellum Album

I'm excited that Barbara Brackman's newest BOM is here, Antebellum Album.
Here is my version of Block 1.

I'm not happy with my piecing...still having some problems focusing my eyes.  But it will have to do for now.

A couple of weeks ago i spent the day working on a little Cheri Payne quilt.

I pulled out a bunch of 2 1/2" strips and hacked away.  The flower applique was suppose to be all one piece of fabric.  I chose to make the stem separate.

Health update.  I started going to physical therapy for my face.  I'm happy to report it is working.  Although not back to 100% I am doing so much better.

Being on Prednisone for my Bells Palsy caused my sugar levels to sky rocket and I gained back the weight I had previously lost.  I'm happy to say my sugar levels have gone down, (In fact they are lower than before) and I have lost the weight I gained plus another 2 pounds.

My eyes are still giving me problems.  Tomorrow I go to the eye doctors to have them checked out.

On the weather front....I woke up to this.   Ugh!

Thanks for stopping by.  Stay warm

Hugs, Cathy

That Cheri Payne little piece is just adorable. I like how your flower came out, too...
that new block looks like a heck of a lot of seam crossings--yikes--but very prettily done...hugs, Julierose

  6. So glad to hear things are improving, and I hope the eyes follow suit!
Your block looks very good to me. And that is a sweet little Cheri Payne design. Good call on the two fabrics for the flower.

  10. So tempting to jump in there and do this one too, but doing that the last 3 years has really stopped from getting some things finished! Your block is very pretty. I am so happy that your are coming along with the BP! The snow is pretty, but I am sure no one wants to go out in the snow, unless to build a snowman! LOL. Take care and keep getting better. Hugs

  12. I think your block looks awesome - I wish I had some piecing skills!! The little Cheri quilt is darling as well. Looks like a fun one to make! I'm sorry your eyes are still giving you trouble, hopefully your doctor will be able to figure it out! And a big woohoo on the weight loss!!!

  14. Hello Cathy,

I am glad to hear that you are still seeing progress, that therapy is helping, and the Prednasone hasn't left you all ballooned up. It is a horrible drug with horrible side effects but does a lot of good as well.

P.S. I think your block looks great!
