I spent a few days sandwiching some small projects and getting them finished. They will all be Christmas gifts.
I quilted this using straight line quilting. I really love working with batiks.
First up is a Christmas Table Runner.
I made this last year but never got it quilted.
Next are a couple of tops I just finished recently. I showed them on my last post.
The third finished project is a Country Threads pattern.
It feels good to finally get something finished. I have the next couple of tops lined up to finish.
I made another 6 Box in a Box blocks.
I'm now moving on to the Homestead block. These are all blocks from the Fat Quarter Shop's Charity BOM.
I have 6 Homestead blocks and 6 Vivid Grid blocks prepped and ready to go.
I also started a new applique project. More on that to come.
Earlier in the week we went to Metro Park to go for a walk and ran into this little fellow.
In case you are not sure what it is....it's a baby Muskrat. It was totally oblivious to anything around it. I guess the weeds were really delicious.
It is rather cloudy today and a hint of rain in the air. Another good day to spend time in my sewing room.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoy your weekend.
Hugs, Cathy
That is a cute Christmas runner. And I agree with you about working with batiks.
ReplyDeleteMy first impulse when I saw the Country Threads design was, "Oh, that would be a good pattern to use with the plaid shirts." I have a pile of them on my sewing room floor right now, so I think they keep popping up in my thoughts.
You have so many projects--how brave of you to start another. : )
I've never seen a baby muskrat. You'd think it would have been frightened by you.
Your finishes are so nice. Doesn't it feel great to get them off of the UFO pile?
ReplyDeleteI've not seen a muskrat before. They look like our roof rats, but brown.
Wow! You have been busy. And that muskrat is so cute! They are not very attractive, but oh so soft. We rescued one years ago and I have never felt fur so soft.
ReplyDeleteThat table runner is really cute! And I love the quilts - especially the batiks! I've never seen a muskrat, now I've got "Muskrat Love" going through my head, lol. Today turned out pretty nice, didn't it? Stay cool this coming week - I'm thinking it will be good to stay in and sew!
ReplyDeleteI wait with bated breath to learn about your applique project.
ReplyDeleteGreat finishes with the extra bonus of having them ready for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYou have great projects going here. The Christmas runner is a great gift idea!
ReplyDeletewhat a cute critter
Ahhhh........... Finishes....... Aren't they the best things going....... That puts you ahead for Christmas......
ReplyDeleteI had to save the table runner picture to Pinterist....
You are raising the bar for the rest of us..... Glad this is not a race or I would still be on Heartbreak Hill.
Now I know what comes from Muskrat love.........
