I've Been Better

But I've also been worse.  Thanks goodness I'm starting to feel better and am getting some sewing done.

First off I got some blocks sewn for the Ohio Sampler.

Sweet Gum

Ohio Star

 True Blue

I made this block in place of Star and Crescent.  The block was a bit too difficult and since I'm still not up to par I needed something easier.

Be sure to visit KarenLori, Luann and Nancy and see their versions of the blocks.

I have a small finish to share.

T is for Temperance.  This is just 12" and will be displayed on my table frame. It is the April quilt for Huckleberry Stitches Sew a Long.

With renewed energy I started working on a new quilt.  Here is the section I have up on my design wall.

It is going to be a lap quilt for my granddaughter.  Lots of bright colors.

Well I finally finished Ella's quilt.  I have mailed the quilt to my daughter-in-law and will post a picture of it after she has received it.  I have another quilt in the works for them using the same fabrics.  It will be a Mommy and Me quilt.

I hope you are having fair weather.  We have had snow for two days in a row. It's not sticking but the cold weather is here to stay for a while.  I watched it snow during most of the game.  Come on sunshine and warmer weather.  It sure would help me feel better.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Cathy

  2. I did the Star and Crescent block in applique. I tried piecing on section and it did not look good at all. For being under the weather, you still got a good bit done on your projects.

  6. Mother Nature has been teasing us with a couple of glorious days before making winter reappear--not nice! We will all feel better once spring comes to stay for good. Your little temperance quilt is adorable. Get well soon!

  7. For not feeling up to speed, you certainly seem to be getting a lot done!
It all looks great, and I especially like the Sweet Gum block.

  8. The new quilt that you've started is one of my favorite patterns. I've already made it in a quarter size version, and a half size version. Now I've got fabrics cut to make a large queen quilt at the regular size (2-1/2" strips). Fun to see your colors on this.

  12. What a nice bit of eye candy you've shared. Thanks. The last one for your granddaughter -- do you have to make it by rows? And, I guess that would mean you'd have to lay the whole thing out before you start sewing rows together? I like how cheery it looks so far.
