First....I finished the top for my Primitive Sampler.
I used the same dark gray and added a 1 inch border. Then I added a 2 1/2" border of the light gray. I love it. It is now on the pile of quilts to be hand quilted.
My Close Second is the Quilt Doodles 2014 BOM.
The picture is a little wonky and you can't see all of it. That's because it is so big that I have going sideways on my design wall. I also noticed that where I have my blog address in the photo that one of the rows fell off the design wall.
But at any rate...I have now emptied another project box. Today I will finish sewing the rows together. BTW...although the fabric looks gray it is a blue check.
The weather continues to be cold. On Sunday we expecting a high of 12 degrees. So I see lots of sewing and quilting in my future.
Thanks for stopping by. Keep warm and keep busy.
Hugs, Cathy
Your sampler turned out very nice.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking grey must be your color of choice for backgrounds.:) When I enlarge the photo I can detect the little checks. It is a very fun holiday quilt!
What a great looking sampler! The quilting is going to look fabulous on that quiet background.:)
ReplyDeleteGreat finish--quilting is a great way to keep warm when the temps are so low
ReplyDeleteBoth are great finishes and sure to keep the winter blahs away.
ReplyDeleteYour grey backgrounds make a wonderful neutral background. It gives it a more contemporary look. I like your new header.
ReplyDeleteI never used to be a fan of gray, but that's changing ... in no small part due to your choice of gray for the background of that fabulous sampler!
ReplyDeleteyou are getting a lot done this winter so far.
ReplyDeleteThe grey looks great with your sampler blocks.
ReplyDeleteWe're super super cold here too -
stay in and sew :)
That Primitive Sampler is gorgeous. The borders look great and really frame the quilt nicely! Stay warm - minus 20 wind chill tonight.
