Since I finished my to do list I started a few new projects.
This is a little quilt I made. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. But I have a couple of people that this would work in their bedrooms or living rooms.
I ordered some scrap backs and had some gray fabric lying around so I thought I would do the Aurifil BOM. The prints used were all scraps. I had to add some fabric to make it work as some of the pieces were longer than my scraps. This is totally outside my color wheel...but I like it.
I'm always a little late to the party.

I've seen a lot of quilters have been doing the APQ SAL. Since I had a little time on my hands I thought I would give it a try. I love this block. A little time consuming cutting all the little pieces but well worth it. This is going to be my Sunday sewing project. It will be scrappy and each block is going to have a different red and blue fabric. I think I am looking at my next bed quilt.
On a weather note....snow is almost gone but the temps are in the 20's and we are expecting that nasty white stuff in the mail tomorrow. Meanwhile I sit in my cozy sewing room finishing projects, starting new ones and dreaming about I want to make in the future.
I hope you had a great weekend and a great week. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs, Cathy
I really like that APQ SAL, too. But, I AM RESISTING!!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Lisa Bongean's version at Primitive Gatherings?
Your patriotic colors are going to be wonderful!
I LOVE this block! LOVE it, I tell you. But I refuse ... yes, I refuse to participate. I'm already working on 3 projects and will be adding a 4th in a week or two ... as well as doing Pam Buda's quilt along. (I used to be a diehard one-project-at-a-time kind of quilter!) But boy, I want to make a quilt using this block!
ReplyDeleteHey! Isn't it fabulous to morph scraps into something great? :)
ReplyDeleteYour blocks from Aurifil BOM look great! I like specially the one on the center (red and gray). I also bought the APQ magazine last month and felt in love with Lissa's pattern. I'Ve to give it a try too!
ReplyDeleteSeems like I am often late to the party. I like the fabrics in your sew-along block.
ReplyDeletefun fabrics for your aurifil BOM. very different from what you usually use.
